Mosquitoes – Prevention is the only solution!

We remind you of the precautions to take to prevent and thus reduce the likelihood of being bitten by mosquitoes.
It’s mosquito season!
We recommend using our Repelin Gel repellent, which is based on a combination of five active natural essences with repellent properties for flying insects. This repellent does not contain insecticides, creating a pleasant, healthy, and harmless scented environment.
If it were possible to summarize the main source of mosquito proliferation in one sentence, it would be as follows:
“The more standing and accumulated water there is, the more mosquitoes will multiply without you noticing.”
Eliminating mosquito breeding sites is essential to reduce the number of these pests in your vicinity and also to protect yourself from bites. A mosquito only needs a small amount of water to lay up to 200 eggs, which is why removing stagnant water is critical.
Please follow our recommendations and preventive measures against mosquitoes:
– Clean plant pots and dishes, filling them with sand (inside and outside your home) – but whenever possible, choose to eliminate the dishes!
– Replace plants that can accumulate water, such as bromeliads;
– Put trash in closed bags;
– Remove objects and areas that can accumulate water outside, namely artificial breeding grounds, such as bottle caps, eggshells, cans, packaging, plastic cups, or any other object that can accumulate even the smallest amount of water;
– Keep trash containers closed and properly isolated;
– Wash animal food and drink containers with a brush at least once a week;
– Always keep toilet lids closed – toilets that are rarely used should be flushed at least once a week;
– Store dry tires in a covered area. If this is not possible, place sand on them to prevent water from accumulating;
– Always remove accumulated water from floors;
– Check drains for blockages and keep them closed if they are not in use;
– Check rainwater gutters and remove leaves or other materials that may prevent water from draining;
– Avoid accumulating debris;
– Store glass or plastic bottles with the neck facing down;
– Treat swimming pool water with disinfectants, sanitizing at least once a week;
– Brush the inside walls of water tanks with soap, and cover them with screens or other material for the same purpose if they do not have a cover;
– Artificial lakes and irrigation tanks should be treated with specialized products (larvicides), covered with appropriate covers, and, if necessary, professional advice should be sought;
– Always remove water from the external trays of refrigerators and freezers (some older models), sanitizing them with soap and water and adding some disinfectant.
